Voice Power with Chris Ralph
Whatever reason you have for developing your speaking voice, this 8-week course will give you the tools to do it. The skills you’ll learn are applicable to acting, delivering speeches, teaching, lecturing, being interviewed, creating podcasts, selling, networking, and becoming an engaging storyteller.
You’ll learn to project your voice correctly, communicate more effectively, captivate others with your voice, and develop confidence in speaking. You’ll have lots of opportunity to practice and develop your voice’s flexibility, range, confidence, strength, control, and interest.

Accent Toolkit with Chris Ralph
This 6 week course is intended for both performers and for curious language lovers who are looking to expand their repertoire of accents - for fun! In addition to being introduced to various general accents, such as RP, Cockney, Canadian vs. General American, New York, Irish, Southern US -- Chris will help you to develop your 'ear' to create characters, while offering up practical and friendly coaching. This will be a fun and practical workshop - with lots of laughs!

Recent acting credits include roles in The Virgin Trial (GCTC); Up to Low (NAC); Half Life (Theatre Northwest); A Christmas Carol (NAC); Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike (Plosive Productions); The Amorous Servant (Odyssey); Glengarry Glen Ross (Avalon Productions – Capital Critics Award for Best Production); Billy Bishop Goes to War (Plosive Productions – Capital Critics Best Actor nomination); The Game of Love and Death (Odyssey); and Death and the Maiden (Plosive Productions). Chris has taught Voice and Acting at York University and the University of Ottawa. He is a proud member of Plosive Productions – one of Ottawa’s longest-running theatre companies. Chris also serves as a Board Member for the Ottawa Little Theatre. He is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada and has an MFA Theatre from York University.

MARY ELLIS - Acting & Voice Instructor
Mary has worked extensively as an actor, director and teacher for many years. Her acting credits include Twelfth Night and Pericles (A Company of Fools), Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Plosive), Angel Square, Fly Me to the Moon, and Circle Mirror Transformation (all at GCTC), and God of Carnage (Third Wall), among many others. Her directing credits include The Clean House (Three Sisters), 12 Angry Jurors (St. Lawrence College), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (A Company of Fools), Ian Tamblyn’s A Summer…A Fair and Bridge to the Past (Theatre Wakefield), Blackbird (Third Wall), and the multi-award winning The Elephant Girls, which has toured extensively in Canada, as well as to the Edinburgh Fringe, London and Dublin. Mary has garnered numerous awards and nominations for her work, including the Prix Rideau Award for Outstanding Direction for The Elephant Girls, and the Capital Critics Award for Best Production for Blackbird. She also teaches at Carleton University, and has taught and directed at St. Lawrence College in Brockville.
