How Black Mothers Say I love You at the GCTC
Written by Trey Anthony. Starting a better life in Canada is a dream for many immigrants, but for Daphne the decision presents an unthinkable sacrifice. This is a story of separation and reconciliation infused with a bold original score that blends gospel, reggae and R&B with classical music. “The play deals with a lot of love, relationships, forgiveness, dysfunction. It is a show that looks at how we love each other and how we ask for love.” Trey Anthony.

Blink at the Gladstone Theatre
Produced by Plosive Productions
Written by Phil Porter. The quirky comedy that’s taking the world by storm comes to Canada. This is the tale of Jonah, Sophie, and a fox called Scruffilitis. It’s a love story. A dysfunctional, voyeuristic and darkly funny story, but a love story all the same. The lives of two shy individuals virtually collide and a charming, delicate and darkly funny story unfolds before your eyes.
Show #1: Friday, Sept. 29, 2017
Onegin at the National Arts Centre
Based on the poem by Pushkin and the opera by Tchaikovsky. Evgeni Onegin is a charismatic and bored bad boy who makes ruinous choices at every turn, leaving devastation in his wake. Based on Alexander Pushkin’s serial poem about unrequited love in 19th century Russia, this sweeping and romantic story for the ages gets a hip and acclaimed new theatrical treatment. With inventive choreography and a sharp, 21st century sensibility, Onegin is as fresh today as it was nearly two centuries ago.
